The last time I saw the Mount Baker Toppers was at the Ferndale Old Settler’s Picnic in July. They’re a bunch of guys who put on a great program: some really topnotch barbershop harmonies, with a lot of old time favorites. I’ve never seen their holiday program, but I’d venture there’s no finer way to pass an hour or two on a cold December afternoon.

Plus, the group’s director is a pretty funny guy.

  • What: The Bellingham chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, Mount Baker Toppers men’s chorus has been in existence for over 45 years, drawing members from Northwest Washington and British Columbia. Their music repertoire emphasizes not only the unique tradition of barbershop harmony, but also includes a diverse array of popular and patriotic songs. The group is directed by Doug Broersma.
